OUR NEIGHBOURS
Bayswater Bowls Club lies within Guy Turner Reserve, which is home to a broad range of community activities: children’s playground, BBQ area, tennis, cricket, soccer, Scouts, lawn bowls, primary school, church, preschool, maternal and child health centre.
The club is proud to play an active part in a group known as the Bayswater West Community Hub where these various organisations come together to promote the area as a whole and to consider ways of improving it.
Among other things, this group was heavily involved with Knox City Council in developing a master plan for the reserve which has seen improved linkages, walking/cycling paths, tree and shrub plantings, artwork, new and improved play and passive recreation areas, an expansion of facilities, and a reorganisation of car parking.
Council has also provided grants for such activities as a Community Café, Cinema Under the Stars, and a community calendar, as well as establishing street art and a “pause point”.
